I am excited to take on the role of president for the RMA Atlanta Chapter for the 2016:2017 year. I would like to thank Joe Pegnia for his leadership over the last twelve months.
At our most recent RMA Annual Conference we heard about the struggle of lenders in this current environment to effectively balance the risk return paradigm. With our low growth environment, the need for more profits is driving lenders to sacrifice underwriting standards for loan growth. This is a troubling development that must be addressed with a return to the basics. In that vein, will be focusing on a return to the basics at RMA Atlanta with a focus on education and networking. We will be introducing a homegrown lunch and learn series headed up by Past President, Lissette Rivera-Pauley. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is a topic you would like to hear more about.
A little background on me. I have been the RMA Atlanta Chapter Programming Chair for the past three years. I have also been involved with RMA on a national level, and attended the Chapter Leaders Conferences in Indianapolis and Phoenix. Additionally, I authored an article for the RMA Journal in March 2016, entitled Understanding Supply Chain Finance.
Needless to say, RMA has been a vital source for me in developing my professional skill set and relationships. RMA has allowed me to build numerous relationships with chief credit officers, policy makers, subject matter experts, and various other professionals. I encourage anyone who is interested in developing their own skill set or network to reach out and we will get you plugged in. Thanks here’s to a great year to come.
